How To Find Genuine Honda Civic Type R Parts And Prices

How To Find Genuine Honda Civic Type R Parts And Prices

To find all the Genuine Honda parts and their prices you only need two websites and you should be able to find all the OEM parts that you will ever need which you can then order and pick up from your local Honda garage showroom!

The Russian website for the official part numbers is: http://japancars.ru/cat/honda/index.php

The website for the dealers prices is: http://www.lingshondaparts.com/

Now follow these instructions on how to use these websites together:

  1. Enter your VIN number in the Russian website (you can find this under your windscreen or on your V5 document) in the "VIN KoA" search box and click "Aanee" (search).
  2. Find the part you are interested in.
  3. To find the price of the part, enter the part number in the lings website search box without any hyphens "-" (minus the symbols).
Now you have the price (which can be slightly different at your local dealership) and can phone up the parts technician at your local Honda and he will know exactly what you are talking about!

The Civic Type R EP3 VTEC Sound

The noise that the K20 engine block sitting in the bay of a Civic Type R EP3 makes when it hits VTEC puts a big grin on any petrol heads face as you take it through to the redline of 8,000rpm. It starts of engaging for a split second with a deep grumbling sound and unleashes an almighty scream the rest of the way. Anyway enough of my trying to explain, watch the video we have here to give yourself a hint of what VTEC sounds in the real world.

Civic Type R EP3 - The Best Civic Type R

The Civic Type R EP3 is probably the most well known hot hatch produced by a Japanese manufacturer around its time. It has around 198bhp from the factory, made possible by the world famous VTEC system using different cam profiles to increase acceleration after around 5,500rpm.

The shape of the 'EP' Civic Type R was sold from the year 2001 to 2005 and used the K20 engine block as first seen in the Honda Integra DC5 a year or two before. This was at a time when Honda had just moved away from the B series engines used in the previous Civic VTi's (also known as the EK4), EK9 Type R's and Integra DC2's. The shape of the Civic Type R body was changed at this point, from the previous sleek, low and long front end to the 'modern' aerodynamic teardrop shape of many cars post 2000. The EP3 bonnet was a lot shorter in comparison which radically changed the looks which was unusual as the EG shape Civic (sold in 1991-1995) to the EK Civic (1996 - 2000) were considerably more subtle changes.

The EP3 was the first Civic Type R that was actually produced for the UK market, as the first Civic Type R being the EK9, was only sold in Japan at a time when everyone crazed about JDM (Japanese Domestic Market). Before the EP3 the Civic to buy from the UK Honda dealer was the VTi which was 158bhp.
